East Lyme Selects WPCS for Advanced Wireless Network

WPCS has announced that it has won a $1.3 million contract through its subsidiary, New England Communications Systems (News - Alert) (NECS), to provide the town of East Lyme, Connecticut with an advanced wireless network for the town-wide mission critical public safety initiative.
WPCS is a design-build engineering company that focuses on the implementation requirements of wireless technology. The company serves the specialty communication systems and wireless infrastructure sectors and provides services that include site design, technology integration, electrical contracting, construction and project management for corporations, government entities and educational institutions worldwide.
The project consists of the design and deployment of a five channel wireless system that focuses on the communication requirements in the town of East Lyme for voice communications, wireless video surveillance and a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) for water safety and sewer operations.
The network will be controlled by an advanced communications dispatch center and supported by a wireless broadband communications link throughout the town.

WPCS International (News - Alert) recently announced acquisition of 100 percent of Energize Electrical of Brisbane, Australia for approximately $1.7 million in cash at closing, which can be adjusted upon the verification of any variance of a net tangible asset value of approximately $293,000 for Energize Electrical at closing.
The transaction closed on April 4, 2008.
Energize Electrical is an electrical contractor specializing in underground utilities, maintenance and low voltage applications including voice, data and video for commercial and building infrastructure companies.
The company, which is now expanding its wireless deployment capabilities, is projected to achieve approximately $2.4 million in revenue and $1 million in earnings before interest and taxes for their current fiscal year ending June 30, 2008.
Over the past few years, gross margins have averaged approximately 45 percent. In March, WPCS International had announced that, through its subsidiaries, it has been awarded approximately $12 million in new contracts.
The contracts include projects to be completed for The University of Connecticut, The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, Yosemite Vista Estates, Colliers International, The Illinois Tollway, California State Prison- Corcoran, ATS Automation (News - Alert), Aronson Security Group, Hartford Hospital, Johnson Controls, Amherst College, DCF-Riverview Hospital, The City of Fort Lauderdale, Bally's Park Place, Six Flags, Mermaid Beach TriCare of Australia and Xuzhou Towngas of China.
