Back for a third season, America's Got Talent showcases the
multi-disciplinary talents of performers across the United States for a shot
at fame, glory, stardom and a $1 million grand prize! Last season, AGT was
Canada's second most-watched summer series, second only to Canadian Idol, with
an average audience of 1.4 million viewers when it aired on CTV.
Airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. beginning June 17, Season 3 of America's Got
Talent showcases a colourful array of hopeful future stars, singers, dancers,
comedic performers and unique acts of all ages performing in front of a panel
of celebrity judges that include actor/singer David Hasselhoff (Baywatch),
U.K. TV personality Piers Morgan, and the queen of rock 'n roll management
Sharon Osbourne (The Osbournes). In the first four audition episodes, the
judges will select the best acts to advance to the "Vegas Callbacks." The acts
that make it through will move on to the semi-final performance episodes,
where the viewing audience votes for their favourites each week. The series
culminates with a live finale, where one act will walk away with a $1 million
prize.
Additional new and returning summer series unfold chronologically as
follows (all times ET; visit achannel.ca to confirm local broadcast times):
Dance Machine (Series Premiere)
-------------------------------
- Fridays at 8 p.m. beginning June 27
Each episode features six real people from all walks of life who face off
against each other in a series of one-on-one dance-offs to the most popular
songs of all time. Imagine a 70-year-old grandmother in a dance-off with a
25-year-old gravedigger to the tune of Michael Jackson's "Thriller."
Throughout the night, contestants will be eliminated by voters in the studio
audience. By the end of the evening, two finalists will be left to challenge
each other for the honour of being crowned that night's "Dance Machine" - and
to take home the $100,000 cash prize. Popular E! News correspondent Jason
Kennedy is host.
Celebrity Family Feud (Series Premiere)
---------------------------------------
- Tuesdays at 8 p.m. beginning July 1
The survey says?! Celebrity Family Feud is a star-studded version of the
beloved and enduring game show, featuring four celebrity families matching
wits each week to raise money for charity. In some cases, competing families
will consist of one celebrity and their real-life relatives, while other
episodes will feature nostalgic or current television clans. Al Roker (Today
Show) will host all the action with 100 people surveyed, Top 10 answers on the
board and celebrity "families" behind the buzzers. Celebrity participants will
be announced at a later date.
Wanna Bet? (Series Premiere)
----------------------------
- Mondays at 9 p.m. beginning July 21
British comedy sensations Ant and Dec (Britain's Got Talent, Pop Idol)
host this one-hour weekly primetime event. Four celebrity contestants/judges
have the chance to earn big money for the charity of their choice by betting
on the success or failure of some of the wildest stunts, tricks and mental
challenges that average Americans dream up and perform in front of a studio
audience. Celebrity contestants include Drew Lachey (Dance War: Bruno vs.
Carrie Ann, Dancing With the Stars), Sherri Shepherd (The View), Bill Engvall
(The Bill Engvall Show) and Olympic gold medal winning figure skater Scott
Hamilton.
