London (UK), May 13th 2008 - Emansio, a young energetic software company based in the United Kingdom, has today announced the release of its Emansio Push Mail software. Emansio Push Mail is set to revolutionise the way that users of mobile phones in the Consumer and Small Business sectors can access their email on the move.

Emansio Push Mail software provides a direct connection between the user’s mobile device and existing email server, offering unprecedented flexibility in the selection of mobile operator and email provider without the need for any additional server infrastructure. This means that millions of users of AOL, GoogleMail, Yahoo, other mainstream email providers and private email services will be able to enjoy the benefits of having their email pushed to them on their mobile devices for the first time.

“We spotted a gap in the market that was not being properly addressed by the mainstream providers of push email solutions”, declares Robin Major, VP Business Development at Emansio. “Millions of customers of the mainstream email providers have been desperate for a simple reliable push email client which will enable them to keep their existing email provider, and Emansio Push Mail is the solution to their problems. Signing up with a Mobile Network Operator for push email functionality often means changing your email address, which is a great inconvenience for anybody who regularly uses email. Emansio removes this problem, allowing customers push access to their information without any unnecessary complications. In addition, Small Businesses that don’t want to be tied to a particular operator or email provider don’t have many options for installing a push email solution without considerable expense on additional server infrastructure. Our solution cuts out the middle man, and just connects directly and securely to your existing email. No server infrastructure. No locked-in service contracts. No fuss.”

The Emansio Push Mail solution also provides a new opportunity for Internet and Email Service Providers. Adding push email functionality to an existing email infrastructure increases the stickiness of subscriber relationships by adding real value to the customer experience at a relatively low cost. This opportunity also opens up a new line of revenue to Service Providers who were excluded from the first wave of the mobile email revolution as they did not own mobile infrastructure. The advent of Emansio Push Mail changes the game for Service Providers allowing them to enter the mainstream of mobile email.

Emansio in brief
Emansio was founded to meet the growing demand for a push email solution that does not require “special” services or hardware. Current solutions like BlackBerry and Microsoft ActiveSync are limited to one device manufacturer, and typically one type of email service. The use of proprietary technologies causes undesirable lock-in effects and increases cost. Additionally push mail services often require the user to transmit all his emails via a third party server, effectively ceding control over the email as well as increasing the “real” cost of delivery.
Emansio embraces open protocols and leverages existing infrastructure to provide an efficient and secure service that can be used by anyone.
Emansio was founded by Geoffrey Cross (CTO), Jan Eldenmalm (CEO) and Robin Major (VP Business Development).
