Female champion in the just concluded national junior lawn tennis championship has called on her female colleague to involve in the sports.
Balu Kargbo who defeated Amie last Friday lifted this year's prize said the female category of lawn tennis is deprived as there are less female who are involve in the sports.
"The game is nice and a good one, I really don't know why my female colleagues are pushing away from it.
When you started playing it you will get to love it," the Services Secondary School student said.
She appealed to parents to introduce their children to lawn tennis and called on the education youths' and sports ministry to lay emphasis on female lawn tennis in various school competitions.
Kargo further revealed that she is admiring former world number one, the American super star, Serena Williams, adding that she is working towards making headline like the American heroine.
"I admire Williams because she knows how to play, but with sponsorship, the equipments, courage and determination I believe I can even perform better than her," Kargbo maintained.
Commenting on Kargbo's performance, national coach Jimmy Wright said Kargbo is a promising young player.
"If given the opportunity, with all the necessary logistics as a player, she will make a name for herself in international standard," Coach Wright stated.
