Last year, Valve released their first game for the PS3. This “PS3” game was The Orange Box, a collection of popular games bundled in one game. Although The Orange Box was successful on the X-Box 360 and the PC, it was virtually unplayable during its initial release date for the PS3. Since Valve had the same problem when they released Quake 4 for the X-Box 360 a couple years ago, you would think that they will fix this problem during their next PS3 romp.

Speaking of which, many PS3 fans hope that Valve will release their upcoming survival horror game, Left 4 Dead for the PS3 as well. Keep dreaming. Valve said that they will not be working on a PS3 version of the game. However, they will allow another game developer to work on the PS3 version of Left 4 Dead. Valve’s main marketer Doug Lombardi made this press statement to CVG.

“We’re not PS3 developers - we’re doing PC and 360 like with Orange Box. EA came to us and said ‘Wow, Orange box was an incredible project, can we do a PS3 version? If you mention a new Half-Life, people want to make as many versions of it as possible. If Left 4 Dead is big, then we may see a PS3 version later, or if and when we do a sequel, people may be more interested in that. We’re only 150 people, so there’s only so many things we can do. But it’s one of those things with partners, wanting to take on that investment and risk. I think until L4D is proven, you’ll probably just see what we make in that franchise”

Left 4 Dead will come out this fall of this year for the PC and X-Box 360.
