Viaducting

Well all the excitement of the 529th celebration of the defeat of the rosbifs is now over and life goes back to normal. Normal being a viaduct, Thursday 8th off for the Joan day, Friday taken off to let us rest up and Monday, Pentecost. The latter day we hesitated over but finally we decided that we need the extra relaxation. So a nice easy 5 days off, and around here quiet's the word. Of course we don't forget our British cousins, slaving away to compensate for their low productivity.
On another subject Slovakia are going to be the first ex Communist state to join Euroland. The World's foremost economy. Congratulations to little Slovakia who have done a great job in husbanding their economy and meeting the Frankfurt criteria on inflation, debt, stabilty etc.
Just a thought for poor old Gordon. He so loved his job of deciding whether the time was right or not for the pound to join the Euro. And rather reluctantly coming to the conclusion that, two fingers to his neighbour, it wasn't. Well now he is unemployed, The pound don't meet the criteria, thanks to his rather careless management of the economy. Ah well he can concentrate on negative equity and reposessions.

You'd probably just squeak into the EU on economic grounds after a probationary period. The problems are the spending deficit and the pound devaluation.
But I doubt the French would let you in again, since we would need to have referendum and would no doubt vote against.
So there's your chance, obnoxiousness is doing the trick.

. . . the French look just the same when they are working flat out, as when they are taking a long weekend. Could that be because they don't actually DO anything at all?
