Half of my family is union and works for G.M. Let me remind you of something. Union workers do not care, nor give a rats a** about anyone else but themselves. You do not care about how other people make a living, so why should we care about you. While the rest of this country has burned their living wages down the toilet, you have enjoyed your money off the backs of the rest of the working class. After you, its going to be health care. go start up your own business, if you want total control of your money.
Sounds like you have dealership experience! Well, look at it this way. If the government does the bailout for G.M, it will just pospone the inevetible. China is set in import cars in the next few years, and in the meantime detroit will be waking up to the new worlds reality. We don't need them anymore. If they want to survive, then they will have to renogiate and work for less, like the rest of us. The transition has allready begun, but it may come sooner or later.
Kevin, there is no longer "american made anymore." Fuel pumps come from china or India via dephi, while the bumpers come from Mexico. Turnstead is closed, remember? no more steering collums from that plant. G.M. demands a lower cost unit pricing from all of its suppliers, and this means overseas outsourcing. After all, it is just an ASSEMBLY PLANT. Just be happy that you were born in 1954 and take your pension and run-as fast as you can. Right now, there are people who are scheming to take that away from you. Don't believe me? Keep on hoping. As for me personally, I cannot believe that the gov't would not want to consolitate two dead companies that just are not out of money yet. Wait for a while, and you will see there hands out again. After all, why wouldn't they?
