Mike Reid returns to TV screens - nine months after his death

MIKE Reid makes a poignant reappearance on television tonight - nine months after his death.

The actor wins ITV show The Baron, which entitles him to the lairdship of the village of Gardenstown, Banffshire.

In the final scenes of the series, he tells the locals: "I feel very proud. I'm very pleased to have the baronship.

"I'd also like to convey my wife Shirley's good wishes. Next time I come up here, I'll bring her with me."

Reid was 67 when he died in July last year.

The village will still benefit financially from events being organised in Mike's memory.
