Medina Garrigues goes to Morocco semis

FES, Morocco, May 2 (UPI) -- Medina Garrigues' title='Anabel Medina Garrigues' class='tpstyle'>Anabel Medina Garrigues lost just two games Friday, roaring into the semifinals of the $145,000 Moroccan Grand Prix tennis tournament.

Medina Garrigues, ranked 34th in the world and seeded first in Morocco, blitzed Olga Savchuk 6-1, 6-1 in the quarterfinal-round of the clay court tournament.

Second-seeded Gisela Dulko was nearly as impressive, defeating seventh-seeded Sorana Cirstea 6-0, 6-3.

Fourth-seeded Aravane Rezai rallied for a tight 5-7, 7-5, 7-5 win over No. 6-seeded Alisa Kleybanova and Greta Arn was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Petra Cetkovska in the other quarterfinals.

Medina Garrigues is paired against Am and Dulko meets Rezai in the tournament semifinals Saturday with a shot at the $22,900 first-place prized money at stake.
