BELGRADE, 23 April 2008 - The role of the media in the election process will be the focus of a workshop, organized by the OSCE Mission to Serbia and the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, tomorrow in Novi Sad.

Editors and senior journalists from media outlets in Vojvodina will discuss the media strategies of political parties and the techniques of election coverage.

The workshop will feature lectures and presentations by Rade Veljanovski, a professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade, Djordje Vukovic, Programme Director of the Centre for Free Elections and Democracy, Zoran Stanojevic, a journalist at public broadcaster RTS, and marketing expert Slobodan Basic.

Similar seminars were held earlier this year in Nis and Novi Pazar.

Journalists are invited to attend the opening of the workshop, at 10.00 on Thursday, 24 April, at Novi Sad School of Journalism, Zmaj Jovina 4.
